Four new memos issued by Councilmember Agran have been added to the Meetings & Memos page.

At last night’s City Council Meeting, the City Council discussed the future of the Veterans Memorial Park and Cemetery at the Great Park. Dozens of people shared their opinions late into the night. In the end, the Council took no action despite a detailed resolution presented by Councilmember Agran.

Councilmember Agran acknowledges the frustration many residents are feeling as the City Council has declined to agendize matters such as the Veterans Memorial Park & Cemetery, Great Park residents and homeowners’ representation, All-American Asphalt-related health and environmental concerns, and a discussion of transitioning to district elections.

Earlier this week, Councilmember Agran circulated a memo to his Council Colleagues, reiterating previous requests for a second signature in order to place items on an upcoming City Council Meeting agenda.

Last night, the Council majority made it clear that they do not intend to honor the citizens’ Initiative and subsequent Ordinance declaring the “ARDA” site at the Great Park as the exclusive location of Irvine’s future Veterans Memorial Park and Cemetery.
