QuickReads | Second Annual CicloIRVINE

Save the date for CicloIrvine! I am excited to announce the second annual CicloIrvine, taking place on Saturday, May 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year, we’re moving to a new location — a 1.4-mile car-free stretch of Campus Drive extending from University Drive to Culver Drive. Residents, visitors, and businesses are encouraged to explore, walk, bike, and roll through this vibrant event.

Local businesses along the CicloIrvine route can get involved as sponsors. We’re proud to have UC Irvine and UCI Health as our presenting sponsors, with more sponsorship opportunities still available. For details, visit cityofirvine.org/cicloirvine/sponsors.

If you’re looking to volunteer, there are various roles available throughout the day. For more information, contact Vivian Nguyen at vinguyen@cityofirvine.org.

Harvest Solutions Farm

On Saturday, March 1, my office held its first Harvest Volunteer Event of the year  the turnout was terrific. Together, the community harvested over 30,000 pounds of broccoli for almost 300 food pantries throughout Orange County. As your mayor, I firmly believe that food security is important and that no one should ever go to bed hungry. The City of Irvine is committed to prioritizing initiatives with the community that ensure all residents have access to nutritious food.

Irvine Public Library Informational Meeting

The City of Irvine is transitioning library services from the County of Orange to establish its own Irvine Public Library system. I encourage you to join one of the two meetings and share your feedback.

National Employee Appreciation Day

In recognition of National Employee Appreciation Day, I want to thank the remarkable City of Irvine staff. Our community thrives because of their hard work and dedication, and I appreciate everything they do!
