QuickReads | Exciting Summer Updates and Events

Dear Neighbor,

Thank you for your ongoing support and participation in our local government. Many exciting projects are underway this summer! I will share some project news and upcoming events in this edition of QuickReads.

CITY PROJECTS:

Delivering on the Great Park:
Active construction and development plans include live music, cultural museums, food and beverage establishments, tree plantings, and infrastructure improvements throughout the 1,300-acre park—with more on the horizon! Thanks to City staff for their hard work and project management on this enormous undertaking!

Gateway Preserve: The acquisition of the All-American Asphalt site and the transformation of the surrounding area into a scenic 700-acre nature preserve in North Irvine is on track. When opened, residents will experience incredible open space for hiking, biking, and outdoor enjoyment. The Irvine Ranch Conservancy will manage the land with up to 12 miles of new trails.

Irvine CONNECT Shuttle Program: This new dynamic shuttle service connects residents to parks, schools, shopping, and more. The free City shuttle has over seventy bus stops and operates seven days a week. Give it a try! Bikes are allowed.

Irvine Library System: With a pending transition of County library operations to the City, we are fostering a world-class library system. This major undertaking will provide the community with extraordinary literary, cultural, and educational programming. Look for more on this crucial library investment in the coming months.

COMING UP:

August 6: Irvine Police Department National Night-Out at the Great Park | 5:30 PM
August 13: City Council Meeting at City Hall | 5:00 PM
August 18: Pacific Symphony SummerFest at the Great Park | 7:00 PM

These accomplishments reflect my dedication to enhancing the quality of life for all Irvine residents. I look forward to continuing to work together to make our future bright and hearing what you—in the community—have to say.

With gratitude,

Larry Agran
