Councilmember Agran Submits Public Records Request to Orange County Power Authority

On Thursday (March 24th), Councilmember Agran sent CEO Brian Probolsky and the Orange County Power Authority a request for public information about its operations. Having received no response from members of the Irvine City Council to a March 1 request for an audit, Larry opted to submit an individual public records request through his Office.

Said Councilmember Agran,

“As a clean-energy advocate and fiscal steward of the City’s investments, I consider it my responsibility to ensure OCPA launches successfully with full transparency to the public.”

The letter requested that OCPA staff share a record of all previous Public Records Act Requests and “records, documented policies, and any and all correspondence” on the following:

  • The energy sources being procured for the Basic Choice, Smart Choice, and 100% Choice plans, and the percentage allocation for each source

  • The number of small, medium, and large commercial customers OCPA will serve on April 1, 2022

  • Any and all reserve funds OCPA has created to address contingencies and other risk factors
