Friends of the Library Appreciation Lunch
I had the honor of hosting an appreciation lunch for the dedicated volunteers from the Friends of the Library organizations at University Park Library, Heritage Park Library, and Katie Wheeler Library. Thank you to these remarkable residents for their contributions and decades of service. I would also like to thank Chris Slama, Director of Community Services, Julie Zeoli, our new City Librarian, and Lorelei Tanji, the Endowed University Librarian at the UCI Libraries, for joining us. We look forward to partnering with you for the next “chapter” of our beloved Irvine libraries.
Meeting with Irvine's Young Leaders
Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting with high school students from Can-Achieve Global Education in Irvine. We discussed the City's initiatives to combat homelessness and provide support for low-income families in our community. I admire these young leaders and their commitment to improving our community.
Ringing in the Persian New Year — Nowruz
A heartfelt thank you to the International Society for Children with Cancer and the Orange County Iranian American Chamber of Commerce for hosting their unique and vibrant Nowruz celebrations for the Irvine community. Each event brought a unique charm and joy to the festivities, showcasing the rich cultural traditions of this important holiday. Happy Nowruz to all!
Interfaith Iftar Dinner at ICOI
Thank you to the Islamic Center of Irvine for organizing the annual Interfaith Iftar dinner that marks the end of daily fasting during Ramadan. Numerous community leaders had a wonderful evening with the interfaith community.
3rd Annual Walk to Feed OC
On March 15, I joined the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County at Tanaka Farms for the third annual Walk to Feed OC! It was inspiring to witness our community unite in support of food security. Each step we take brings us closer to a future where no one in Orange County faces hunger. I’m thankful for the enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment of everyone who participated!

At the 54th Annual Irvine Police Department Awards Banquet, we came together to recognize the remarkable contributions of the men and women of the Irvine Police Department. Their dedicated efforts toward keeping our community safe play an integral role in making Irvine one of the premier places in the country to live, work, play. I thank them for their service!
